Hello, world
First post. What this site is, why it exists, and what I will write here.
Every developer's first program prints hello world. This is mine, in the shape of a website.
I spend my days as a technical product manager at Verisure and my nights building Athlas1 and Blackbox2, our on-premise AI machine. Between those two lives, a lot of thoughts pile up that fit neither a company blog nor a 280-character post. Half-formed ideas about product work. Opinions about how software should be built. Lessons that only show up after something ships, or fails to.
They needed somewhere to land. This is that place.
What this is
A forum for thinking out loud. I will write essays when something has been bothering me long enough, logs when I am building something worth documenting, and short notes when a thought does not deserve a thousand words but refuses to go away.
No schedule. No niche. No SEO strategy. The company blog over at Athlas exists for being useful to others. This one exists for being honest with myself, and you get to read along.
About the site itself
I built it the way I wish more things were built: from scratch, in black and white, with one accent color and a lot of restraint. Dithered dots instead of stock photos. Next.js and Firebase underneath. No template, no theme, no builder.
The design is the first post, in a way. Constraints sharpen things. A site that can only be black, white and one color has to earn attention through typography and rhythm instead of noise. That is roughly my thesis about product work too, so it felt right that the site should argue it silently.
There will be a proper log about the build later, for the three people who want the details.
What happens now
More writing. That is the whole plan.
